I think I may have written about this before - I am not sure. I am not much into art. It could be for this very reason that I haven't been exposed to enough to really appreciate. There are a few though that I really connect with.
- The Scream which my friend Drea introduced me to in high school
- Starry Night. Despite how small in the universe we are, it is so close
- The Old Guitarist Sometimes we only have one thing to hold on to
This morning I was sitting on the couch trying to wake up and Jasmine says "Ayudame! Ayudame!" which means "help me" in Spanish. The funny thing is that she knows how to say "help me". She has for a long time. She wanted me to move her keyboard piano into the middle of the room for her and she thought she would show off for Daddy.
Alyssa is also really starting to show her personality. When you interact with her she smiles and coos. I will hold my hand up and wave to her and she will mirror my action. She loves to stick out her tongue. It is really fun now. She has a pretty long attention span and loves to be on her stomach or on her play mat.

When I got home from work, Jean told me I had a message. It was from the DOD Bone Marrow Donor Program. The gentlemen told me that I was being contacted because I had consented back in 1999 and had been identified as a potential match. If I was interested to call back and if I wanted to be removed from the list, I could do that too.
I think this is very cool. It isn't every day you find out you might help save someone's life. If I get called back next week I will write again.

Jasmine's speech is very advanced for her age. She also has a pretty vivid imagination. The other day when we were going out to eat she said:
"Look! A big chicken"
We were in a parking lot and there were obviously no chickens to be found so I asked her where she saw the chicken just as we were pulling out of the parking lot. Without skipping a beat she replies:
"Behind that bush"
The other day, her mother taught her to answer the question "How old are you", to which she replies:
"I'm two years old"
If you ask her, "Jasmine - are you four years old", she will reply:
"No, I'm two years old".
Tonight after dinner she came running around the corner screaming:
"That's Max and Ruby" - which is one of her favorite shows on Noggin
The fact that she was running so fast she had to take the corner quite wide (like they do in cartoons) so much more comical.
She also likes to sing songs. She knows most of the words and the ones she doesn't she either strings something together that sounds right or just hums until she knows the words again.
It isn't all fun and games. She also asks questions endlessly.
"What's that?"
"Where did it go?"
"Go play please?"
etc, etc, etc
